Konkuk University was founded in 1931 by Dr. Yoo Seok-Chang and was first established as Chosun School of Politics. A few years later, the name was changed to Konkuk University. The university is regarded as one of the most comprehensive private universities in China, with two campuses in Seoul and Chungju.

As a global university, the University educates 2,500 international students in a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctorate programs. English-taught programs are also taught to accommodate international students.

Admission Requirements

Freshman applicants must have graduated from an accredited primary and secondary schools

Students seeking to transfer to the University must have completed at least 2 years of a 4-year undergraduate degree program with at least 50 percent of the credits required for graduation at an accredited Korean or foreign university with good academic stand

All applicants must submit either a TOPIK report with Level 3 or above or a Korean Language Program Completion Certificate issued by Konkuk Language Institute with Level 3 or above

All international students at the University must acquire TOPIK Level 4 or above to graduate.

The online application requires applicants to upload a colored photo taken at a studio and a valid email address.

Changes or cancellations cannot be made after the online application deadline.

Konkuk University Station

Konkuk University Station is a rapid transit station on Seoul Subway, and it’s adjacent to Konkuk University, hence the name Konkuk university station. The station is located in Hwayang-dong in the Gwangjin-gu administrative district of Seoul.

Konkuk University Library

The Konkuk university library is called the Sanghuh Memorial Library. The library was opened in 1989 and is currently one of the largest libraries. The library provides educational materials for Konkuk faculty, students, staff, and residents with over 1.2 million volumes and a fully automated system for searching resources and checking out materials.

Graduate School of the University

The Seoul campus 13 graduate schools while the Glocal Campus in Chungju has 2 graduate schools. There are general graduate schools, 3 specialized graduate schools (Architecture Graduate School, Law School, Business School) and 11 special graduate schools (Administrative Graduate School, Education Graduate School, Industrial Graduate School, Business School, Agricultural Graduate School, Media, and Public Relations Graduate School, Information and Communication Graduate School, Art Design Graduate School, Real Estate Graduate School, Creative Convergence Graduate School and Veterinary Defense Graduate School, Medical School, etc.).
