Qualification for a United Nations Volunteers
Each position requires different qualifications from applicants. However, some general requirements can be summarized as:
Applicants must be at least 25 years old. Nationals of the country of the assignment are not eligible, except the assignments in Headquarters duty stations.
Applicants are expected to have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
Applicants should have 3 years’ experience in the relevant field.
Applicants must be knowledgeable in the position he/she is applying for.
Fluency in English and French is demanded in most volunteer positions in the United Nations.
Practical experience in the use of databases, and Microsoft Access, word, excel, etc.
Applicants must have a driving license.
Applicants must have the following traits: Accountability, Commitment to Continuous Learning, Communication, Integrity, Planning and Organizing, Professionalism, Working in Teams.
